The St Helier Chapel - the Prayer Space

The St Helier Chapel is an area within the Town Church which has been especially dedicated to prayer. As you enter from the West Door, keep going straight and you will find it on the left at the end of the church. The chapel is set up with interactive prayer stations to help us spend time praying. There are often activities and ideas for all ages, or you can simply relax and engage with God in prayer. The space is also used for our midweek communion service.

Town Church Tots

Our Tots group is for parents and carers and their preschool children and runs from 10am-11.30am on a Wednesday morning during term time and includes a gathered time of stories and singing. There is time for free play, songs and stories with Mr Bible and a craft time. There's always coffee, tea and cake on tap and a very warm welcome. Please just pop along on a Wednesday morning. Tots is restarting on Wednesday 7th January 2026

Warm Welcome Spaces

We will be offering a Warm Welcome space again in 2026.

Starting 12th January 2026 and running to mid March.

Whenever the church is open you'll find a warm welcome with spaces to work, rest, pray and play. 3-5pm - Tea/coffee, toast and conversation (Monday-Friday, not Tuesdays) Play area is suitable for 0-4 years old. Plus - on Fridays - crafts for the children

What will I find?

The church has zones for you to work (with wifi), rest, play and pray. Tea and coffee are available whenever possible, and there is a good supply of toddler toys and various board games for all to enjoy. People from the church will be in attendance on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons.

Why?

We want to share God’s love, through practical care & support, offering warmth & connection to those in our community. Jesus tells us to ‘Love our neighbour”, and there is a clear Biblical command to respond to the need around us – in 1 John 3:17-18 it says “If anyone has material possessions, and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech, but with actions and truth”. That is exactly what we want to do as Town Church. Please note that there maybe days when the church closes earlier to prepare for services or concerts.
